GEOBIM INFORMATION TO CHECK DIGITAL BUILDING PERMIT REGULATIONS

Abstract. Municipalities invest a lot of time and person-hours into manual building permit checks. With the increase in computational power use Building Information Models (BIM) design life cycle, several municipalities are investing automating these checks using BIM geo-data sets. However, few examples exist tools effectively geo-information with BIM. In order to address this gap, project was developed municipality Rotterdam (NL). previous phase, tool implemented, able analyse data extract needed information for representative regulations. extend improve previously tool, web-based interface is now implemented sets integrated process allowing more powerful GeoBIM analysis. Three both GIS were tested: (i) The parcel limit check evaluates if building’s footprint derived from falls within provided municipalities’ (ii) height maximum relative road’s height. Finally, (iii) road overhang detects neighbouring roads admissible over that road. This paper presents developments, including type input checks, three new (parcel check, check) implementation tool.
